Dead Elephant
This is a scene of an abandoned Russian T-55 type (actually it's a Type-59 chinese tank) on some field in Angola. One side is burnt and the suspension has collapsed. The tracks are also broken. Time has passed and vegetation has grown back and the old "elephant" is just a tourist attraction.
This was a diorama built to show the abilities of the Sub Saharian Mud from MiG Productions on a forum.
The tank is an old Trumpeter model, and I had to use the chinese type 59 because I couldn't found a T-55 in time. The figure it's from an MB set and was supposed to be an American tank crew member, I had it modified to look like a tourist. The tank's mantlet is scratched too. All the rest is scratch built: ground, vegetation, tree. Vegetation is a mix of scratch and real roadside herbs dried and painted.
Paint is a mix of Tamiya, Vallejo and AK washes.
Here is a building blog on an international forum. Hope you like it.
