Author Comment: Photos of the employment of the HJ from the military-historical archive Potsdam served me as an inspi- ration for the creation of the planned vignette. One of the pictures shows a small group of Hitler‘s boys on bicycles, equipped with outdated carbines and bazookas, makeshift fastened to the handlebars of the bikes fastened, on the way to the front. With these impressions in mind it went to the choice of the prota- gonists. I decided on a kit of Jaguar with the convenient title „The last defenders“ which had been sitting in my collectionalready for some years. The figures were built directly OOTB, because both show very nice details and hardly required remachining. Merely a few shoelaces from fine copper wire were added. At the figure of the boy, I exchanged the steel helmet for a specimen from Dragon Gen2, the grunt got, in addi- tion, magazine pockets and bread bags of the same manufacturer given. The steel helmet was provided with a chin strap hit about the visor, made from tin-foil, like often recognised on contemporary photos. Now I still needed a bicycle and the choice fell on the old Tamiya kit, which shows a respectable base for further detailing. I decided for the excellent but also nerve-wracking PE-sheet from ABER which was com- pletely obstructed. The fork and the rear struts of the frame were produced from wire, because the parts from the ABER set looked a bit to leven to me. Furthermore I exchanged the handlebar for a crooked ra cing wheel driver from 0.3 mm copper wire, wrapped in „driver‘s tape“ from fine lead foil. A small tool bag from Milliput was fast modeled and found it´s way to the saddle. The „arming“ of the „Truppenrad“ consits of two Panzerfaust 60M from RB-Model which is a very nice kit and highly recommended.
